Due to popular demand, the committee are looking to hold another evening at the Crown on Holderness Road. Stan played his guitar with support from Mike Lodge and others to a packed house. Although a date has not yet been confirmed, it is expected to be in the middle of December. There will be a superb line-up to support Stan at what will be his last event of his testimonial year.
Saturday 7th June 2008:
Tony Smith the Great Britain coach has agreed to attend the Testimonial Dinner scheduled for Saturday 28th June 2008. Smith joins his assistant Steve McNamara and Steve Prescott who confirmed their attendance earlier in the year.
Friday 6th June 2008:
Stan is looking forward to a bumper June as his events for the year reach fever pitch. A golf day, an evening with, a dinner as well as the eagerly awaited autobiography take place this month. The support has been phenomenal and proves just how popular the PNG star is.
Saturday 31st May 2008:
Nick Barmby has lent his support to the launch of Stan’s autobiography by agreeing to attend the luncheon to be held at the Royal Hotel on Friday 27th June. Stan is overwhelmed by the gesture and is looking forward to a great afternoon.
Saturday 8th March 2008:
The first Karaoke and BBQ of Stan’s Testimonial year will be at the Green Bricks on the Marina. Sunday 6th July is the date which has been reserved and coincides with Rovers relatively short trip to Castleford Tigers. It is hoped the first team will come along and lend their support.
Sunday 2nd March 2008:
The first Dinner has taken place at Craven Park with everyone having a great night, even after an oven failure caused some problems. David Howes was fantastic, superbly supported by Andy Wilkins and Mike Cain. Stan’s split PNG shirt was a huge attraction in the auction and was the pick of the bunch. Thanks must go to Frank and Jean Morton who organised the event and indeed supplied all the raffle prizes.
Saturday 16th February 2008:
Stan was overjoyed to score the winning try in the game against the Catalan Dragons proving he intends to concentrate on his rugby. Although he was not pleased with the overall performance as he said: "A win is a win."
